ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 3. Starting June 4, 2025, Air Astana will launch a new direct route from Almaty to Da Nang (Vietnam), Trend reports via Air Astana.

Flights will operate twice a week—on Wednesdays and Saturdays—on modern and comfortable Airbus A321LR aircraft.
Flight schedule: Departure from Almaty at 00:55, arrival in Da Nang at 10:05 (+1); Departure from Da Nang at 11:45, arrival in Almaty at 17:00.

The flight duration to Da Nang is 7 hours and 10 minutes.

Minimum ticket price for a round trip:
Economy class: from 360,701 tenge ($721.40) (including all taxes);
Business class: from 1,001,804 tenge ($2,003.61).

With the launch of the new route, Air Astana’s total weekly flights to Vietnam will increase to nine:
Almaty – Nha Trang: 4 flights per week; Astana – Nha Trang: 3 flights per week; Almaty – Da Nang: 2 flights per week.

Da Nang is a picturesque coastal city in central Vietnam, known for its pristine beaches and unique attractions.

In addition, the seasonal route to Phu Quoc will remain operational until March 31, 2025.

Air Astana is expanding its China flight network with a new service from Almaty to Guangzhou kicking off on 30 March 2025.

Flights to Guangzhou will be operated using Airbus A321LR aircraft three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Economy class return fares including tax start at $531, and Business class fares return fares are from $1,561.

“China has always been a strategically important market for Air Astana, with strong business and leisure traffic growth since the first service more than 20 year ago,” said Peter Foster, CEO of Air Astana.

“The launch of new China flights to Guangzhou represents a very significant step in expanding Air Astana’s network.”

Guangzhou is the largest industrial centre in China, a global leader in textile industry and an important economic and cultural hub.

The city is located 120 km northwest of Hong Kong. Air Astana currently operates seven weekly flights to Beijing from Almaty and Astana and four weekly flights to Urumqi from Almaty.

Kazakhstan citizens can travel in China for up to 30 days without a visa.

Royal Jordanian Airlines is returning to India after a decade as the West Asian country seeks to grow trade and tourism from India.

The airline will launch non-stop services from Amman to Mumbai and Delhi from April 17 and September 17 respectively. The routes will be served four times a week with Airbus A32ONeo aircraft.

It last served India in 2015. The new service to India comes as Jordan aims to widen source markets for inbound travel. While the country is popular among European and US tourists for religious and wellness tourism, recent tensions in the region have impacted inbound travel. Tourist arrivals in Jordan have dropped by over 6 per cent this year.

Royal Jordanian Airlines is partnering with the local tourism board to tap outbound travel demand from India.

“India will be driver of our growth strategy in Asia,” said Karim Makhlouf, the airline’s chief commercial officer on Wednesday.

Makhlouf said the airline’s focus will largely be point to point traffic from India. Connecting traffic to Europe and US will be a bonus, he said.

“We are targeting 40,000 passengers from India in the first year and aim to grow traffic to 80,000 in the second year,” he said.

“India and Jordan have strong ties. We welcome Indian tourists to Jordan. People tend to stereotype entire West Asia as unsafe. However Jordan is a peaceful country. We are keen to grow trade and are looking for new investments in tourism and information technology sectors,” said Yousef Abdelghani, Jordan’s ambassador to India.
